Rosé of the Week
2012 Lucy Rosé of Pinot Noir
A delightfully deep pink rose color, this pretty as a spring bouquet wine, made entirely of Pinot Noir, will charm and amaze even the most jaded of rosé haters. Jeff Pisoni, winemaker, his brother, Mark, winegrower, and his dad, Gary, one of the chief instigators of the Santa Lucia Highlands wine movement, are mighty proud of this wine, which they started making 10 years ago to help raise money for breast cancer research. They donate a lot of it to cancer fundraisers, and it continues to delight breast cancer survivors across the country, especially those named Lucy!
But you don’t have to be named Lucy to appreciate the bright strawberry-guava and juicy fruit gum aromatics and the fabulous texture of this fast flowing wine. Packed with cranberry, raspberry, pear, tangerine and hints of white pepper and orange peel, it delivers all the hedonistic pleasures of strawberry mousse, laced with cinnamon red hots.
A dollar from each bottle sold goes to breast cancer research – drink up!
