Full Circle Brewing Co. in the heart of the Central Valley serves a mix of hand-crafted, premium-quality beers as well as an unusual array of entertainment.
Beers range from the popular Cluster Fuggle Cream Ale, High Speed Rail (a red ale) and Brown Ale to the stronger Russian Imperial Stout which is 11 percent alcohol by volume (ABV) and Good Ass Barley Wine (a rich malt with caramel hints and a dry finish. It has Bills Pills if one is looking for a lighter beer or its newest edition, Grasshopper Summer Ale which is a light red ale, sweet with a dry finish.
The art-filled antique postal building was built in 1935. It is a friendly setting for Fresno Art Hop’s exhibition, held the first Thursday of each month. It’s a nice spot to watch cheesy horror movies, silent movies accompanied by live piano music, B movies and brews, open mic night and hosts a blues jam night, all held monthly. Every Thursday it has three beers on special for $3 drafts.
Behind the brewery is also home to roller derby contests from May to October. Specific dates and times about the Central California Area Home Bouts, can be found at CCADERBY.com.
In honor of the roller girls, brewmaster Bill McCrory brewed a beer named Fishnet Burn. It revised its past version so it has the same light flavor but with a pilsner malt instead of a pilsner yeast, especially for the roller derby crowd.
“The turnout is good. This is something that is completely unique to breweries,” Kenny Young, Manager at Full Circle Brewing Co., said.
Its craft beer won second place in the 2012 Sudz in the City People’s Choice Award for its Double “D” Doppelbock which is 8.4 percent ABV. Young says this popular red beer is brewed during winter months.
Certain beers are brewed at certain temperatures so various beers are produced at different times throughout the year.
Full Circle is located at 620 F Street in downtown Fresno. For more information check out fullcirclebrewing.com.
