Rosé of the Week
Ruthe’s Pick
2012 McIntyre Vineyards Rosé of Pinot Noir, $19.50
So refreshingly light and appealing, this rosé seems most fitting for brunch, where it would be delightful with strawberry waffles, golden raisin scones with orange blossom honey, or croissants with sweet cream butter and strawberry rhubarb jam. However, it would certainly be wonderful poolside on a hot summer day accompanied by shrimp and fennel salad with a citrus dressing; or with watermelon, jalapeno and cilantro salsa with crunchy celery and jicama to dip.
I was at lunch at the Haute Enchilada in Moss Landing with some of my lady wine friends. We all brought a bottle of something special to go along with lunch. My friend Laura brought a bottle of this Rosé, it went amazingly with my Roasted Veggie Polenta Lasagna. In case you haven’t noticed I am a LARGE fan of good Rosé, and this McIntyre Rosé is right up there at the top of my list. I am going to be making a trip to Monterey soon to stock up on this one, and a few others.
